Twins To Play Violin, Star In Circus Tightrope Act
Twins Playing Violins? Uh huh.
WICHITA, KS -- Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus announced today that local twins will star in a new tightrope and violin show.

Scott T. Walsh, notorious Ringleader and Master Clown for the world-renowned circus, said the twin boys, Joshua and Jonathan McElfresh, would perform on the tightrope at center ring while playing their violins.

The boys began playing the violin during a history class at Beech Elementary School in Wichita just last week. One of their gym teachers, Wiley Crandell, reportedly lodged his head in a volleyball net.

In response to encourgement from classmates, Joshua and Jonathan immediately began playing sad songs on their violins.

Fire Rescue units were called to remove the teacher's head from the net.

PHOTO NOTES

Vernelle and I are children of the 60s. You know, long hair, guitars, drums, sax, rock n roll.

So, when given the chance to choose and learn to play a musical instrument, what did our children do?

They chose VIOLINS.

What's the world coming to?

We decided to take them away from the bad musical influence in Kansas and we moved to Hawaii.

Now they're playing the cello.

What's the world coming to?

The photo in the story above was taken in the boy's bedroom in Wichita sometime during 1992.
