Wax Museum Opens In Wichita Shopping Mall
WICHITA, KS -- "They are so lifelike they
almost look real" local shoppers said at the grand opening of Wichita's newest
family wax museum.
Kansas' largest shopping center, Town East, under increasing pressure
from store owners to keep shoppers happy and entertained, opened the new wax museum
Friday.
The grand opening of the museum marked the 42nd wax museum to open
in Wichita in 1996. The event featured a live rock band, a 12 foot bungee jump, gambling,
and burning a nude woman shopper at the stake.
Oddly enough, the museum's most popular attraction was a replica
of a local wedding party.
One visitor reportedly exclaimed, "Hey, I know those folks."

PHOTO NOTES
OK, off the Big Island. Switch to Kansas. Actually, they're quite
similar. Both are devoid of vegetation in many places and are boring to drive around.
This is my daughter Andrea's big wedding day.
She'd been on her own for nearly five years, went to college, found
a good guy, and decided that taking care of herself was too expensive.
So she met a guy and got him to do it for her.
It's a never ending story.
The photo in the story above was taken at Andy's wedding in Kansas
in mid 1996.
